I am a professionally trained Doula and Birth Mentor through DONA and Birthing From Within. For fifteen years I have accompanied families through the childbearing year. I love the experience of watching women and their partners blossom into parents. The journey of the childbearing year is an awesome one and I feel deeply privileged to be included. I love helping women connect to their power and deep wisdom as they embark on the journey, experience labor and birth, meet their babies for the first time and become comfortable as mothers during the post-partum period. Dads and partners are awesome too! It is such an honor to watch them become parents.
I love to learn with parents in childbirth classes. Guaranteed . . . I learn as much from you as you learn from me! Prenatal education is a huge part of my doula services and it's where I think the difference can be made in the way you and your partner experience labor, birth and parenting. I teach the 'Birthing From Within' method because I believe it is the most honoring and useful approach to prepare parents. It's not just about information as information is not how you will find your way through the powerfully intense experience of labor and birth. 'Birthing From Within' is about searching and finding your own way on this beautiful journey, discovering your particular inner resources and becoming the parent you want to be.
Being a doula enriches my life and deeply informs the way I live in the world. I am in utter gratitude to every family that allows me to embark on this sacred journey with them.
